Chrome extension

MailArgus Extended

Scan the message you are already reading. No export, no upload.

01

Open the message, click the icon

The scanner on this site needs a .eml file, and getting one out of Gmail takes four clicks and a download. The extension skips all of that: open the message you are suspicious of and click the toolbar icon, or press the keyboard shortcut.

02

The same analysis, in a panel

It runs the pipeline this site runs: sender authentication, domain registration age, lookalike and homoglyph detection, urlscan.io, VirusTotal and Google Safe Browsing, and a language model reading all of it together. The verdict appears in the panel, with the reasoning and the specific things that looked wrong. How it works covers the pipeline in full.

03

Three depths, and you pick the default

Light for a fast answer from headers and reputation. Standard opens the main link somewhere safe and watches what it does. Ultra opens two, looks at the landing page, and shows you its reasoning. Set the default in the panel's settings, and escalate any single scan without changing it.

04

One allowance, not two

The extension and this website draw on the same daily allowance, so it is one quota whichever you use rather than a second one for installing something. A subscription raises it on both at once, and a licence key entered here is honoured there.

What it can see

One message, and only after you ask. The extension declares no standing permission for Gmail, so between clicks it has no access to your mail at all. That is a constraint Chrome enforces rather than a promise we are making. It never lists your inbox.

What is kept

The message is held in memory, sent over TLS, analysed and released. It is never written to disk and never stored. What stays on your machine is your depth setting and the finished verdict, and the verdict is cleared when you close your browser.

No account

No sign-up and no email address, the same as everywhere else here. A subscription raises the allowance on both surfaces at once, and a licence key entered on this site is honoured in the extension.
